The National Kidney Foundation has made the first step in coming clean on the fluoride issue. Fluoride is highly toxic to people that have kidney problems – even more so than the general population. This video does a good job of describing the situation.

Does a water purifier take fluoride out? Being I drink anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 gallons of herbal tea and water in a days time, this concerns me. Please let me know.
You can call the manufacturer or look it up on the internet to find out. Normally a “water purifier” does not remove significant amounts of fluoride. They might take out the chlorine and possibly some other things – but not fluoride. High quality reverse osmosis water filters and water distillers remove nearly all fluoride. Many reverse osmosis filters only remove 40-80% of the fluoride.
Seattle water is fluoridated at an average of 1mg per liter of water. You’re drinking 5.7 – 9.5 liters of water daily which comes to around 5 – 9.5mg of fluoride daily. If there is any green or black tea amidst your herbal teas, that easily adds 2mg fluoride in a 12 ounce cup of tea – and that doesn’t include the aluminum fluoride in the tea (which can multiply fluoride content by THREE).
If your water purifier takes out fluoride, great. Otherwise it appears that from ONLY water, you’re consuming a LOT of fluoride. Do you have any bone problems or intestinal irritation or pain? How are your kidneys?
