Who Endorses Water Fluoridation?

Who Endorses Water Fluoridation?

Who INDEED!

Many organizations endorsing water fluoridation are part of the dental industry. Since the dental industry makes a lot of money from fluoride treatments of various types, they certainly want the public to BELIEVE in fluoride.

(What would happen to dentist’s businesses if people began demanding NOT to have fluoride treatments? That’s a huge money maker for dentists.)

But keep looking.  There are some real surprises on the list. For example, why do the Alzheimer’s Association and the American Cancer Society endorse water fluoridation?

Research has shown that fluoride helps aluminum into the brain – which is associated with Alzheimer’s disease. And fluoride has been correlated with cancer hundreds of times over in research around the world. Why would they support water fluoridation? For that matter, why would they even be involved in the whole water fluoridation issue?

One omission on this list is the National Kidney Foundation.  They used to be listed – until 2008 when they disappeared from the list at the same time as they made a new public statement on fluoride.

  1. Hi Golda,

How recent is this? I’m doing research on the subject too, and there may have been some changes.

That info is pretty recent – October 2, 2011. It came up when the city of Everett said that the National Kidney Foundation had not withdrawn its endorsement of fluoride. As far as I know this list is quite accurate. It’s directly off the ADA site.

      Notice the American Cancer Society.
